Well-Pict Berries Welcome the Autumn Season

Well-Pict Berries Welcome the Autumn Season

For Immediate Release

WATSONVILLE, CA- SEPTEMBER 10, 2013 – Despite the summer season coming to a close, Well-Pict Berries is enjoying end-of-the-season warm weather in their Watsonville fields, growing premium, proprietary strawberries with a size count of 20. While the Watsonville crops are in their final days, the transition to their Oxnard fields will be at the end of September, rather than the historical transfer happening mid-October.

“We’re expecting to have shippable fruit by the end of September,” reports VP of Sales and Marketing Dan Crowley. “The incredible weather continues to push color and flavor in Watsonville, which allows us to move into Oxnard a little earlier.”

Crowley reports that the raspberry crops in Watsonville have been outstanding, with a volume and excellent quality that have allowed Well-Pict to expand its customer base.

Well-Pict customers have come to enjoy the very best Mother Nature has to offer, the size, flavor and non GMO qualities of Well-Pict Berries are available fresh all year long. Perfect for the fall family meal is Well-Pict’s Pork Tenderloin with Strawberry Reduction Sauce:

Ingredients:

¼ C extra virgin olive oil

1 pork tenderloin sliced into ¼ inch medallions

1 spring fresh rosemary

¼ C butter

3 Tbsp sugar

3 Tbsp brown sugar

Touch of cinnamon

1 C Cabernet of choice

1 Basket Well-Pict Strawberries

Salt and pepper to taste

Water

Directions:
Heat oil in skillet over medium heat; add rosemary to infuse oil, 1-2 minutes. Remove rosemary. Add pork medallions and pan sear until golden brown, turning to brown each side and insure even cooking. When medallions have reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit, remove from skillet. To skillet, add butter, sugars and cinnamon with a touch of water to liquefy, bring to a slight boil. Add Cabernet and Well-Pict Strawberries; continue boiling until berries are softened. Once berries have softened, reduce heat to simmer. Scrape bottom of skillet to include the remains of the pork and rosemary. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring often. Drizzle reduction over pork medallions.

When your family catches the aroma of these fresh ingredients, you won’t have to look far to call them to the table!
